Komox To Partner With PledgeMusic For The Band's Debut Album Release
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Komox official website) Komox, the side project of long time Lifehouse bassist Bryce Soderberg, has announced its partnership with PledgeMusic to launch the official pre-order on June 26th, 2014. The band's debut album will release in January 2015.

Komox is a Canadian-rooted alternative indie-pop band based out of Los Angeles, California. Formed in the spring of 2012, the project was birthed as a result of songs written by Bryce Soderberg during his still current days as long time bassist and backing vocalist of the Multi-Platinum rock group Lifehouse. "Initially this was just a passion project for me while the other guys (in Lifehouse) also pursued their side-bands", laughs Soderberg. "But after a few shows and getting such a positive feedback, I don't want to stop!" Having experimented with a dark-pop sound with production from Nine Inch Nails keyboardist Allesandro Cortini and a melodic-atmospheric influences from Abandoned Pools frontman Tommy Walter, the band blends songs of heartache, happiness, in an LA lived adolescence, with synth infused alt-rock sounds from the past and present. Having played countless shows developing, writing and recording demos around Los Angeles for two years under the name 2ndwheel, Bryce rebranded the band to Komox in 2014. "It was a necessary to change the band name as far as the music was concerned", says Soderberg. "It felt right to get back to the roots of where I'm from and put a positive connotation to the name." One of his favorite places to visit as a child was the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, BC, its indigenous name meaning "plentiful".

With iconic shoegazer tones from former ModwheelMood member Pelle Hillstrom, and gritty guitar & 80's synth work from the Hard rock influenced "Viking" Neal Tiemann (David Cook), Sweden's own Kris Perrson's indie/hip-hop drum style was the last missing piece. "I feel like we come from different genres, but as a unit we are completely on the same page stylistically", says Perrson. "It is a great time in the industry for music, and I'm confident that what we are about to do is going to turn some heads." The band is well on its way to record their debut album, and over the next year, perform and create a record they feel the band deserves. "We have about 40 songs in the tank, and I can't wait to whittle them down to a great record," says Soderberg. "It's going to be an amazing experience. It's all about enjoying the process. That's what this is all about!"
