LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts) Re-launched earlier this year by Earth, Wind & Fire's legendary founder Maurice White,
Kalimba Music (www.kalimba-music.com) enjoys several major chart leaps this week with EWF's new single "
Never" and composer/keyboardist Greg Manning's "Cruisin' Down The Road."
There's some exciting action happening for both on the Mediabase Smooth A/C chart (aka America's
Music Charts), with "
Never" enjoying a huge jump from #26 to #20 - just below genre stars
Boney James and Nils, and a few slots ahead of
Najee and The
Rippingtons - and "
Cruisin' Down The Road" making a very high debut at #16.
"
Never" is also inching up the Billboard Smooth Jazz chart (#26-#25) while debuting at an impressive #19 on the Smooth Jazz Top 20 with Allen Kepler, leaping from #41-#35 on the Smoothjazz.com chart and from #18-#16 on the SmoothIndieStar.com chart.
Manning, who released his
Kalimba Music debut album Dance With You on July 8, also finds "
Cruisin' Down The Road" "Chartbound" on Smoothjazz.com and up a whopping ten slots on SmoothIndieStar.com (#37-#27) and 17 on the
Radio Wave
Internet Airplay chart (#49-#32).
The multi-talented performer will be performing on the Alaska-bound
Dave Koz &
Friends At Sea CruiseSeptember 5-12. He will also be making his first appearance as an artist on the main stage at the Catalina Island JazzTrax Festival on October 19.
White, who originally established
Kalimba Music in 2003 as a vehicle to promote
Earth, Wind & Fire as well as up and coming performers, decided to re-launch based on his passion and love for music and worthy artists.
