NEW YORK (BMG) - Silvertide celebrated the release of their debut album,
Show and Tell, on
September 28 with a packed show at the Trocadero in their hometown of Philadelphia. No small feat given the torrential rains from the remnants of Hurricane Jeanne that flooded whole sections of the city that night.
Show and Tell, debuts this week on Soundscan's Alternative New Artist Chart at No 7 and on the Billboard Heatseekers album chart at No 21. "Ain't Comin' Home" moves up to No 13 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart and No 14 on the Billboard Monitor Active Rock Chart. Top airplay markets include Philadelphia, Louisville, Baton Rouge, Detroit, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Chicago and Boston.
The band filmed a video for "Ain't Comin' Home" at Hayvenhurst Studios in Los Angeles, directed by Honey (Laura Kelly and Nicholas Brooks). The directing team has also helmed videos for Rage Against the Machine and Kings of Leon, among others. Additionally, Brooks has been awarded an Emmy and an Oscar nomination for visual effects. A performance-based concept, the video of Silvertide's initial track is currently in post production. Special effects such as a "snorkel lens" on a crane will lend an intimate view of the band's command of the stage.
