Music left her songwriting profession as a noted wordsmith for the biggest names in Nashville, to pursue her heart and calling writing conscious music while building a platform for her now company Conscious
Music Entertainment.
In doing so through a collaboration with music icon the late Ray Charles' daughter
Sheila Raye Charles.
The song which became known as the 'song of hope' has been in flotation throughout the country and over seas earning recognition as the song of the year 2013 at the International
Music Entertainment Awards.
Recently, McKinney, received word that the song has been getting a lot of attention in so much as to be a nominee in the Global
Music Awards 2014.

Sheila Raye Charles, known as a gospel singer as well as a powerhouse vocalist whose mission is to bring hope in her travels in churches, prisons and where ever there is a spiritual need of hope.
The song "We Are Hope" was also, featured in the Muzart Concert 2013 to bring awareness to the need of music and arts in public school programs to save the legacy of music and arts.
Currently McKinney, collaborating with Rhythm and Praise artist
Kevin Lambert, in a release called Big Boyz, off his newest album 'Fearless' to be released later this year.
McKinney also, writing her newest conscious song to also released later this year as the theme song for the Dave Baker Foundation, whose mission is to bring the much needed message in support of A.I.D.S. The song entitled 'Music Can Heal The World" to be recorded by soulful artist Vaughn Anthony.
Finally Milliea, and
Sheila Ray Charles, were featured in the 2013 book written by Author, Radio, Host and Activist Denice S. Newton, the 2013 published book honors fifty of the greatest women making a difference in the world today. McKinney, also writing one of the theme songs entitled 'Ariel Rising.' which was donated to the book and its mission which was to honor women all over the world who go beyond the call of duty to hear their calling to help those in need. These women are from all walks of life and have made change to enhance the world with hope, love, faith, or charity.
What is next for Ms. McKinney? She says, she will continue to write music that impacts people who are making change in the world through music and lyrics. McKinney's company shared with
Kevin Lambert, is about music and how it influences others because music has the power to empower and heal the world.
McKinney, also scheduled to receive the 'Pioneer' award from Nashville's Songwriter's Hall Of Fame for outstanding music composition throughout the Country
Music Industry.
