New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Melissa Lopez, Spanish based singer, is releasing her debut EP,
Heaven and Hell, on January 1st 2015 with a full-length to follow later in the spring.
The artist has chosen to give a message to a sick world by crafting corrosive songs which should touch every human emotions.
The title track, Evil Woman, is a high energy pop/dance song. In this EP Melissa shows her incredible talent as a very special singer, going from massive backing vocals to accapella, from pop to blues to operatic, Melissa has a wide range and you'll be discovering her full talent in this debut EP.
The songs show the infinite mind battle between good and bad. This type of human behavior is highlighted in the music video for the title track, which will be released shortly after the EP.
Heaven and Hell is a work in progress in Los Angeles, with producer Jean-Michel Danton. The EP additionally includes a cover song as a bonus track 'Bagdad cafe', which will mesmerize everybody.
The
Doors to Joy EP is being distributed through Soundmatch and will be available to purchase on all popular digital sites, including iTunes.
This
Spring 2015 will also bring the release of the LP.
ABOUT Melissa Lopez: Melissa López, born of a Spanish father and
Swiss mother, grew up in Alicante, Spain.
Since her earliest age, music and singing have always played a key role in her life. Thanks to her musician grandfather, she made her first steps on stage at a young age, and couldn't wait to follow in his footsteps. As years went by, things started getting serious: home shows, improvised impromptu singing sessions for the family, CDs galore...
At the age of 13, she was spotted by Manuela Pastor (Professor of Singing at the ORFEO Academy) during a singing contest, and was offered a scholarship. After years of vocal and musical studies, one year of drama and interpretation, and various experiences, Melissa is currently co-director of the Orfeo Academy of Singing with Manuela Pastor, while continuing to work to achieve her objective: making it big in the world of music and dreaming on stage with her audience.
This is where it all started. After appearing as a contestant in Star Academy, she got an offer to represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest, then the following year she got the exact same offer to represent Switzerland, which resulted in several benefit galas, photo shoots, interviews, private and public concerts; she went on to win several singing prizes across Europe, became background vocalist for various famous artists, guest star for various concerts in
Europe and in particular in the UK...
Heavily inspired by such great voices as Aretha Franklin,
Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Edith Piaf, Adele, Amy Winehouse,
Annie Lennox,
Mariah Carey and so on, Melissa will develop her voice in a very different way than any other singer, she has that unique sound that anybody will recognize immediately.
Her style can vary from a heavenly voice to darker places as she loves R&B, pop, dance and heavy metal as well, which is a weird combination but one that works well given Melissa's wide vocal range.
She's a very powerful performer with extraordinary stage presence, her charisma and "Heaven and Hell" look got the attention of the European press.
Melissa can speak English, French and Spanish fluently and can sing in those 3 languages indifferently.
Melissa has caught the attention of Soundmatch, a record company with a revolutionary concept based in London, Los Angeles and Spain. Soundmatch really believes that she can walk on the same ground as today's great Divas. Since Soundmatch is pretty sure that they have found the next big star, a lot of effort is going to be put into launching Melissa's 1st CD and tour, Melissa is looking forward to working with Soundmatch and to release her 1st album.
