Walk The Moon Announces Benefit Performance At New York's Brooklyn Bowl For
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) WALK THE MOON consists of Nicholas Petricca (lead singer, songwriter and keyboard player), Eli Maiman (guitar, vocals), Kevin Ray (bass, vocals) and Sean Waugaman (drums, vocals) all hailing from Ohio. After the band's explosive first single "Anna Sun", including the beloved music video which became a viral sensation with over 9 million Vevo views to date, WALK THE MOON was praised by music industry tastemakers across the board. "There's something about WALK THE MOON that's absolutely out of this world. Their music is addictive, energetic, and fun," proclaimed Interview Magazine. WALK THE MOON is back with their recently released debut single "Shut Up and Dance" off of their upcoming sophomore album due out later this year on RCA Records.

WHAT:
StubHub, the world's largest ticket marketplace, is taking music to the next stage in its biggest music initiative yet to support emerging artists while giving access to the true music fan. Launching with its first self-produced and self-ticketed live concert event, the NEXT STAGE Concert Series, the New York date with WALK THE MOON is the last of the five cross-country dates in the series that raise money for the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation and local schools in each market.

New York area schools benefitting from full ticket proceeds of the benefit concert as well as a portion of an initial $250,000 provided to MHOF by StubHub are P.S. 48 Joseph R. Drake School (approx. $20k in musical instruments), Bronx Global Learning Institute for Girls (over $47k in musical instruments), and Grand Street Campus School (over $57k in musical instruments).

WALK THE MOON said: "With hard work and dedication we have had the tremendous fortune of being able to pursue music as a career. With that, we are forever grateful to the many musicians, teachers and mentors throughout our lives that have inspired, taught and helped us achieve such great success. We are thrilled to participate and have the opportunity to join StubHub in a benefit event like this that supports aspiring musicians, music programs and kids in their pursuit and love of music."

To date, the ticket proceeds for the first four dates (Los Angeles, Nashville, San Francisco and Chicago) have raised an additional $50k for the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation.

MORE:
StubHub recognizes that providing rewarding experiences and taking its music efforts to the next stage extends beyond the concert and, as such, is continuing the mission of its corporate social responsibility program promoting music education and the arts by naming Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation (MHOF) a national recipient of its Rising Star Award. The award comes with an initial $250,000 grant from the StubHub Foundation (a corporate-advised fund of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation) and access to StubHub's platform, partners and employee talent to help further its mission to keep music alive in schools.

The StubHub Foundation grant will be distributed by MHOF to schools in need, in the form of $50,000 in new musical instruments that will help ensure the continuation and expansion of school music education programs throughout five of the concert series markets. In addition, 100% of ticket proceeds from the Next Stage benefit concerts will be donated to MHOF.

The StubHub Next Stage Concert Series Benefiting Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation started in Los Angeles featuring Swedish singer-songwriter Lykee Li and continued on to Nashville featuring Los Angeles-based rock band Grouplove, San Francisco featuring Portugal. The Man and Chicago, featuring Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue.
