The Launch Of The New Southern Electrikk
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The New Southern Electrikk cannot be easily categorised. Drawing inspiration from Psychedelia, Krautrock and Post-Punk, the band craft dark, mesmerisingly beautiful melodies driven by grinding, sexy undertones. Monica Ward's versatile vocals can be as ethereal as they are deep and soulful; capturing her audience in the palm of her hand with a voice that is sinister yet alluring.

Zach Davies' flowing guitar shimmers over StevenTajti's gritty, throbbing basslines with Rikki Turner's keys and backing vocals providing a darker edge. Jim Correy's drumming is brooding and purposeful giving The New Southern Electrikk a solid base on which to build soundscapes that are visceral yet sultry.

The band enter the studio to record a double A side single at the end of the month, with work beginning on a debut album in the new year, but they're already receiving a huge amount of attention. Less than twenty-four hours after releasing their first demo online, a cover of The Gun Club's 'Mother of Earth', two of the UK's most respected producers have shown interest in working with The New Southern Electrikk, and Evan Dando of The Lemonheads has declared himself a fan.

The New Southern Electrikk are Louder Than War's 'New Band of the Day' and The Sunday Experience website describes Mother of Earth as "darkly brooding psychotropia that subtly edges and skirts around a 'movement' era New Order channelling superbly a post punked kaleidoscopia aura."

"Cool reading of one of my favourite songs Mother of Earth! I dig it and I want to hear more."
Evan Dando, The Lemonheads

"Armed with a stunning haunting voice that drips a melancholia, sex and dangerous beauty, The New Southern Electrikk could be the soundtrack of 2015. This is the perfect version of The Gun Club's stark and ghost-like Mother of Earth, dripping with emotion against a spectral atmopshere. They say this is a demo, it sounds finished to us!"
John Robb, Louder Than War

"They sound great... super vocals and attitude, great expression."
Joe Foster, Co-Founder of Creation Records
