About Dj Cam

For more than fifteen years the French "DJ SHADOW" and globetrotting super-producer has been innovating and shaping dance floors around the world. Critically acclaimed beat-maker DJ Cam has been one of the most influential artists in the "French Touch" era (Daft Punk, Air, Cassius,...) and presents a brand new bouncy DJ set blending Hip Hop, Trap, French disco infected synth beats, Future and 80s boogie.

With his unique style of mixing samples of Jazz along with Hip Hop, Electronica on the turntables, Cam, alongside PORTISHEAD, DJ KRUSH, SHADOW, MASSIVE ATTACK is undoubtedly one of the founders of the captivating Trip Hop - Electronica scene. The hugely influential CAM has been producing remixes with huge commercial success around the world, displaying his unique talent on reworks for the likes of Michael Jackson, Air, Nas, Cypress Hill, Macy Gray, Malia, Miles Davis, Jean-Michel Jarre and sound designs for fashion labels (Louis Vuitton, Agnès B, Junko Shimada, Carhartt, Paul Smith, Gap, etc). His 2002 Single "summer in Paris" with Anggun was a world-wide success selling over a million copies and remains an emblematic tune of the Parisian dolce vita.

In 2011 he released "Seven" on K7. "Seven" touches well-crafted pop and folk (Swim, with vocals by Stateless' Chris James/Ninja Tune and a video directed by Sonia Sieff, reminds one of Radiohead, one of the album's major influences. Chris James is also present on Ghost and Uncomfortable), hints of old school electronica (Dreamcatcher), and cinematic ambient tracks that invite you to dream (Seven, California Dreaming). For a feminine touch, DJ Cam adds the vocals of Inlove, a new signing on his Inflamable label, and Nicolette of Massive Attack, the legendary group that DJ Cam feels closer to now than ever before, and to whom he dedicates the album. DJ Cam: "After the acoustic album Soulshine and various projects with high-profile collaborations and large groups, I wanted to get back to the essentials of being a producer: going into the studio alone, having total freedom, and allowing my inspiration free reign. Seven has turned out to be so intimate because I approached it in the same way as my earliest tracks; with experimentation and pleasure as the prime motivation."

Jumping back on the scene after his highly praised electronic album "Seven" on K7 Records he released several new records and compilation such as the "Seven Remixed" album. The concept here is that these remixes follow the order of Cam's well received seven album with new reworks of the likes of Remixes by Blockhead, Alex Tassel, James Curd, Falty DL Pharao Black Magic and many more.
