Earlier this month, the band hosted an exclusive album stream on Loudwire.com and revealed the inspiration behind the album's title. "Black Widow is a metaphor for this innocent young girl who gets infected with life, traumas, experiences, and the balance of light and darkness. She becomes this poised and powerful creature." Guitarist Chris Howorth added that Maria Brink's stage presence resembles a black widow because of the way she's able to draw an audience in.
