New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The GRAMMY Foundation announced today that GRAMMY winners Bryan Adams, Melissa Etheridge, Cyndi Lauper, and Willie Nelson; GRAMMY-nominated artist Robin Thicke; and singer/songwriter Aloe Blacc will perform at "Lean On Me: A Celebration Of Music And Philanthropy," the 17th Annual GRAMMY Foundation Legacy Concert, on Thursday, Feb. 5 at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles. The evening's musical director will be Darrell Brown, songwriter/producer and GRAMMY Foundation Board member. Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy and the GRAMMY Foundation, will be in attendance, along with other prominent music industry leaders and members of The Recording Academy. Additional performers will be announced shortly. Tickets are $45 per person and admission includes a post-concert reception. For tickets and information, visit https://wl.flavorus.com/gf/leanonme or www.grammyfoundation.org, or call 323.908.0607. This noted GRAMMY Week event brings together an extraordinary range of artists for a triumphant and unique evening featuring live musical performances and archival footage from the GRAMMY Foundation's preservation grant archives. Each year, the GRAMMY Foundation Legacy Concert centers on a theme, and "Lean On Me" will explore the evolution of music's role in advancing philanthropic causes and celebrate the visionaries behind the creation of those iconic songs and concerts.

"The GRAMMY Foundation Legacy Concert honors significant influences in music history and highlights our year-round activities in support of our mission to protect our cultural legacy," said Portnow. "This event was created to underscore the value of preserving our rich musical heritage so that future generations can continue to benefit from a deep appreciation of this history. The evening's live performances by some of music's most celebrated artists combined with seminal interviews and footage highlighting historical musical milestones clearly bring our message home to all fortunate enough to participate."

The GRAMMY Foundation was established in 1988 to cultivate the understanding, appreciation and advancement of the contribution of recorded music to American culture. The Foundation accomplishes this mission through programs and activities that engage the music industry and cultural community as well as the general public. The Foundation works in partnership year-round with its founder, The Recording Academy, to bring national attention to important issues such as the value and impact of music and arts education and the urgency of preserving our rich cultural heritage. In recognition of the significant role of teachers in shaping their students' musical experiences, The Recording Academy and the GRAMMY Foundation partnered to present their first Music Educator Award in 2014. Open to current U.S. music teachers from kindergarten through college level, the Music Educator Award will be presented at the Special Merit Awards ceremony during GRAMMY Week in 2015.
