The Legendary Giveback III banjo has been personally played by Scott Avett and will be signed by all of The
Avett Brothers the night of the benefit concert on Dec 13th 2014 in Myrtle Beach! You can see this beautiful banjo and Scott playing it in this video.
Modeled after Deering's popular Classic Goodtime Two, this resonator back banjo is crafted with a hard rock American maple neck, violin grade maple rim, and stained a stunning custom Cheerwine Red Sunburst. The custom drum head of the banjo bears the unique artwork of the Legendary Giveback III Campaign by
Martin Kvamme. It is remarkably light, weighing only 5 ½ pounds; about the same as an acoustic guitar. It also comes with spikes already installed at frets 7, 9, and 10, which act like a capo for the 5th string enabling you to expand your playing from the key of G to easily play in the keys of A, B and C. As special bonus the auction package includes a gig bag carrying case. This banjo is American made, right down to the banjo head made by Remo in California!

About The Avett Brothers
The
Avett Brothers formed in 2001 in Charlotte, North Carolina when banjoist Scott Avett and guitarist Seth Avett joined forces with standup bass player Bob Crawford. Raised in the textile town of Concord, North Carolina, the
Avett Brothers were influenced by their dad, Jim Avett, who had a box of eight-track tapes that Scott and Seth picked through, listened to and digested. It included albums by Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Crosby,
Stills & Nash, and Jim's own folksy duo,
Common Decency. Other roots musicians from the folk and country realms filtered into their subconscious, too. Because of their wide range of influences, the
Avett Brothers might be described as a rootsy amalgam of folk, country, bluegrass, rock and pop - with a jab of punk-style dynamics here and there. More information about the
Avett Brothers can be found at https://www.theavettbrothers.com or Facebook.com/theavettbrothers.
