Deering Banjos, Cheerwine Soda, And The Avett Brothers Team Up Again For Charity
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Legendary Giveback III Banjo is here and truly one of a kind! North Carolina indie-folk rockers The Avett Brothers, Cheerwine, the legendary soft drink of the South, and Deering, the great American banjo company, have joined together for the third consecutive year to present the Legendary Giveback III Campaign for 2014. As part of this Deering has created a new one of a kind "Cheerwine Red" maple banjo with a custom banjo head. This is being auctioned off for charity on eBay beginning December 8th and closing December 17th, 2014.

You can check out and bid on this item here: https://ebay.to/1ytCZsq
All proceeds from this auction will go to benefit the three major charities chosen as this year's partners:

Lowcountry Food Bank - Founded in 1983, The Lowcountry Food Bank has fought hunger in the 10 coastal counties of South Carolina for over 30 years. Their mission is to lead the fight against hunger in their community. They are a member of Feeding America, the nation's official network of food bank's. https://www.lowcountryfoodbank.org/hope

Kids First of the Carolinas - Kids First is a very grass-roots, non-profit community organization that helps children and families in need. A small charity doing big things, they receive no local, state or federal funding. They have helped with things as big as a home and as small as a warm coat, and much much more. https://www.kidsfirstofthecarolinas.org/Home.php

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, founded by the late entertainer Danny Thomas, is one of the world's premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases. St. Jude is the first and only pediatric cancer center to be designated as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute. Children from all 50 states and from around the world have come through the doors of St. Jude for treatment, and thousands more around the world have benefited from the research conducted at St. Jude - research that is shared freely with the global medical community. No family ever pays St. Jude for anything. https://www.stjude.org/

The Legendary Giveback III banjo has been personally played by Scott Avett and will be signed by all of The Avett Brothers the night of the benefit concert on Dec 13th 2014 in Myrtle Beach! You can see this beautiful banjo and Scott playing it in this video.

Modeled after Deering's popular Classic Goodtime Two, this resonator back banjo is crafted with a hard rock American maple neck, violin grade maple rim, and stained a stunning custom Cheerwine Red Sunburst. The custom drum head of the banjo bears the unique artwork of the Legendary Giveback III Campaign by Martin Kvamme. It is remarkably light, weighing only 5 ½ pounds; about the same as an acoustic guitar. It also comes with spikes already installed at frets 7, 9, and 10, which act like a capo for the 5th string enabling you to expand your playing from the key of G to easily play in the keys of A, B and C. As special bonus the auction package includes a gig bag carrying case. This banjo is American made, right down to the banjo head made by Remo in California!

Deering, The Avett Brothers and Cheerwine are happy to join their resources in this effort to help improve the world community.

About Cheerwine
CHEERWINE: Born in the South. Raised in a Glass.
Launched in 1917 by L.D. Peeler, Cheerwine is a soft drink with a flavor that always surprises. It is an iconic brand from North Carolina. Owned and distributed by the Carolina Beverage Corporation and Cheerwine Bottling Company in Salisbury, N.C., the 97-year-old company is still privately owned and managed by the same founding family; four generations of whom have worked there. Cliff Ritchie leads Cheerwine as president and CEO. Available in supermarkets and convenience stores in select states nationwide and on the website at https://www.cheerwine.com.

About The Avett Brothers
The Avett Brothers formed in 2001 in Charlotte, North Carolina when banjoist Scott Avett and guitarist Seth Avett joined forces with standup bass player Bob Crawford. Raised in the textile town of Concord, North Carolina, the Avett Brothers were influenced by their dad, Jim Avett, who had a box of eight-track tapes that Scott and Seth picked through, listened to and digested. It included albums by Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Jim's own folksy duo, Common Decency. Other roots musicians from the folk and country realms filtered into their subconscious, too. Because of their wide range of influences, the Avett Brothers might be described as a rootsy amalgam of folk, country, bluegrass, rock and pop - with a jab of punk-style dynamics here and there.
