New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Versatile indie talent Janna Pelle will take the stage at 10pm on January 31st at Lower East Side venue Pianos for the video release show of "City Life", which showcases Pelle's trademark "Makeshift Popstar" ethic displayed within the instantly relatable single off her upcoming album. Pelle's debut album Shameless Self Promotion has sparked reviews that Pelle is "making the pop music of the future" and her past videos have enamored viewers with Pelle's contagious and seductive wit. Pelle has already garnered a following within the New York City gig circuit performing at venues such as Pianos as well as a slot as recent support for glam-rock outfit Wifey at their Cameo Gallery CD release show.
With a style reminiscent of alternative songstresses Ani DiFranco and Fiona Apple who has also been compared to "the love child of Tori Amos and Lady Gaga with the alter-ego of David Byrne", Pelle exhibits a fresh and inventive way of combining elements of pop, rock and soul alongside classical piano. Her academic background in advertising has also led to her to develop an intelligent connection between herself as an artist and her audience, demonstrated in the post-glow of multiple successful CMJ performances at the 2014 CMJ Music Marathon.
Gig-goers should expect yet another demonstration of Pelle's charismatic and quirky affinity for performing, something that has been reflected in her past DIY-inspired videos and is sure to be featured prominently in "City Life", which includes a collaboration with renowned body artist Trina Merry. Although January 31st marks 'City Life's official release, the single's cover artwork has already been featured at the cutting-edge Brooklyn | Nude exhibition at Brooklyn's Bishop Gallery.
Be sure to mark your calendars for 10pm on the 31st of January at Pianos and don't miss out on the opportunity to see Janna Pelle in what is certain to be a unique and captivating live performance. Support comes from alternative rockers Circadian Clock and Pelle's performance is followed by Janbi (John Barber of progressive/hard-rock/funk band Ellis Ashbrook).
