Vijay Iyer + Trio Play The Metropolitan Museum Of Art's Temple Of Dendur In The Sackler Wing On March 7, 2015
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) On March 7, Vijay Iyer and his Grammy-nominated trio, including Stephan Crump on bass and Marcus Gilmore on drums, will perform at The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Temple of Dendur in The Sackler Wing, with Met Museum Presents, for a special NYC concert release event for their new album 'Break Stuff' (Feb. 10, ECM Records).

'Break Stuff' is Vijay's third record with his Grammy-nominated and Echo Award-winning trio and his third release for ECM in the past twelve months. The album is a sublime exploration of rhythm and is a continuation of the experimentation that the Vijay Iyer Trio fostered on 'Historicity' (NY Times', LA Times', Downbeat's and the Village Voice's 2009 Jazz Album of the Year and a 2010 Grammy Nominee for Best Instrumental Jazz Album) and 'Accelerando' (NPR's 2012 Jazz Album of the Year). Throughout 'Break Stuff's thirteen tracks, the trio references a plethora of influences ranging from James Brown's band to Detroit minimal techno producer Robert Hood.
