New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Singer/songwriter Doug BALMAIN has played a lot of different guitars and sang through a lot of different mics…but hasn't stuck around long enough to use the same rig twice. Prior to finding his way to this release, BALMAIN's musical style has been seemingly ever changing.
The Burnin' Both Ends EP will mark BALMAIN's first release to go public in nearly two years. But, he is confident that it will be well worth the wait. After emerging from the studio, BALMAIN simply stated, "This music says what I wanted to say, and it says it how I wanted to say it. I've been searching for my voice for a long time - this time, I found it."
The first single off of the new EP, entitled "Bad Habits," is scheduled to release on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2015. It's accompanying, official music video will release simultaneously to YouTube.
"I'm excited to give this song to my fans and to have it as the frontrunner for the fast approaching release. It's a full-dose of my new sound, it's upbeat, and it's one of those songs that I feel everyone can relate to."
The second single, "Burnin' Both Ends," will release on Tuesday, February 17th, 2015. It too will be supported by the simultaneous release of its official music video to YouTube.
"This is one of those straight-up, rock 'n' roll tracks that epitomizes the classic, rock music attitude. In the past, almost all of my songs have been these heavy, reflective songs…with this release, I wanted to give my listeners some tracks that are a little easier to be around, but still just as true to life. We're not all in these pensive, burdened mind states all the time - sometimes you just want to flip the world the middle finger and spend some time not giving a shit about all the things there are to do and worry about. That's exactly what this track is about and I think it nails that energy."
On Tuesday, March 3rd, 2015 the "Burnin' Both Ends" EP in its full, six-track entirety will release publicly. It will be accompanied by the release of the official music video for "Home," one of the EP's six songs, to YouTube.
"Prior to this EP, I've never felt in my gut that I created something that truly expressed 'me' and who I am. It's an incredible feeling to know that I've finally created exactly what I wanted, in a voice that is my own, and not want to change anything about it. I think that energy and honesty will come through the speakers - the audience will hear and feel it for themselves and, hopefully, appreciate the songs even more because of it."
