New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Yamaha introduced the new Xeno Artist Model
Chicago B-flat trumpet at the recent 2015 NAMM Show. The YTR-9335CHSII has been updated with the input of John Hagstrom, second trumpet in the legendary
Chicago Symphony Orchestra brass section, to offer ideal response and a clear high register. This B-flat instrument complements the acclaimed Xeno Artist Model
Chicago C trumpet, released in 2013.
Yamaha Artist Model trumpets reflect the highest level of craftsmanship. Meticulous design enhancements provide a natural playing feel. On the
Chicago B-flat instrument, a new bell taper, heavier leadpipe and geometric changes in the tubing combine to create an instrument capable of delivering even the most complex musical passage with a responsive playing feel, nuanced sound characteristics and accurate, even intonation. Reconfigured pistons optimize the flow of air, creating ideal response with fluid resistance. Yamaha even redesigned the right-hand finger hook and the braces between the leadpipe and the bell to allow for a more natural feel and to let notes in the upper registers sing more freely.
"This new trumpet is the result of years of testing and retesting to ensure that orchestral trumpet players of the highest caliber can create their musical voice using Yamaha Artist Model trumpets," said Brian Petterson, marketing manager, Wind Instruments, Yamaha Corporation of America. "The natural feel of these trumpets and the effortless transfer of ideas into sound will be readily noticeable to anyone who plays the updated Xeno Artist Model
Chicago B-flat trumpet."
