"We are very, very excited to welcome to the Oracabessa Festival and to New York city, breakout Jamaican artiste for 2015 Dexta Daps" an ecstatic
Bobby Clake, CEO of Irie
Radio said.
"Fans have flooded our radio station with hundreds of calls, requesting that Dexta be included in the line up this year. And given that this will be his first major performance in this market, made him very attractive to us. We worked hard with his management team to make his appearance at the festival a reality" Clarke noted.
Daps will be joined on Oracabessa by Tarrus Riley, Alaine and the
Grace Thrillers featuring gospel songbird Shirley Willis and friends. The award winning Riley is a bonafide crowd favorite in the trip-state area. He has had a slew of hit albums including 'Contagious,' which boast tracks like 'Lion Paw,' 'Beware,' 'Start A New' (Cut it Off), 'Good Girl Gone Bad and 'Human Nature,' a soul-stirring rendition of Michael Jackson's original 1983 hit. His sophomore album 'Parables,' yielded chart toppers such as the touching acoustic tribute to his daughter 'Can't Sleep', a haunting reggae rendition of John Legend's 'Stay With You' and the ladies anthem "She's Royal" which made him a household name across the Caribbean. 'She's Royal' top just about every reggae chart globally, won almost every award for which it was nominated and was hailed by Billboard Magazine as "the quintessence of Jamaica's roots reggae revival."
