New York, NY (Top40 Charts) "Although we've been making music for 15 years, this is OzGoode's first tour and it's going be a long one," says songwriter and percussionist Patrick Phillips. "We have over 30 dates in Canada in under 2 months, then we're off to the UK/Europe, so hopefully it's not as painful as the touring bands before us has claimed." OzGoode's debut EP Beginnings is available today on itunes.
The roots of OzGoode lie in the creative partnership of co-founders Phillips and Joseph Pittari. The duo have worked with a variety of female lead singers over the years and the Beginnings EP features Yolanda Campbell, a sexy powerhouse vocalist who brings the lyrics of the band's music to life. For the tour they have brought on
Vanessa Huneault, a singer songwriter, music producer and recording engineer.
From a small town in Québec, called Rouyn-Noranda, she moved to Toronto 3 years ago to pursue her dreams. After completing a degree in Audio Production & Engineering at Metal Works Institute, she built her own recording studio downtown Toronto to accommodate her numerous music projects.
"The addition of
Vanessa on vocals has been great," says Phillips, "she has brought a softer, sweeter voice to OzGoode which has given us the opportunity to do some of our older material, and there will be over 90 min of original music on this tour. She can also belt out our heavier stuff as well, she's proven that to us when she suggested we cover "
Cochise" from Audioslave."
