FilmRise Acquires DVD Rights To Music Doc "Backstreet Boys: Show 'Em What You're Made Of"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts / FilmRise) FilmRise has acquired U.S. DVD rights from Gravitas Ventures for the music documentary "Backstreet Boys: Show 'Em What You're Made Of," a revealing and exhilarating portrait of the biggest boy band of all time. The Brooklyn-based distributor will release the film on DVD on April 28, 2015, with Blu-ray to follow.

Shot over the span of two years as the band prepared for their 20th anniversary re-launch, "Backstreet Boys: Show 'Em What You're Made Of" chronicles their entire career journey up to the making of their 2013 album and their subsequent world tour. Band members Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, A.J. McLean and Kevin Richardson discuss the highs and lows of their rise to superstardom, from boyhood to manhood, from fame and fortune to betrayal and renewal. The DVD will feature extras including deleted scenes of a trip to A.J.'s childhood home, a visit with Kevin's high school drama teacher and a behind-the-scenes rehearsal of "Madeleine," a song from their new album. The film was produced by Pulse and Missing in Action Films and directed by Stephen Kijak.

Gravitas Ventures released the film theatrically in over 50 markets and on Video on Demand on January 30, 2015. The Los Angeles Times' Gerrick D. Kennedy praised the film as "carefully crafted...an engaging look at how [the band] got to here. Take a walk down memory lane and see 'Show 'Em What You're Made Of.'"

FilmRise CEO Danny Fisher said: "The Backstreet Boys have made an incredible impact on the music industry and pop culture as a whole, so we're thrilled to be releasing this documentary on DVD and Blu-ray to their fans and to a new generation that may be unfamiliar with this groundbreaking group. The film provides a refreshingly honest look at music, fame and friendship that anyone will enjoy watching."

"After a successful release in 50 theatres and on Video on Demand, we're very excited to have FilmRise distributing the film on DVD and Blu-ray and bringing this incredible story to an even wider audience," said Nolan Gallagher, CEO of Gravitas Ventures.
