Hippo Campus release their joyously explosive EP 'Bashful Creatures' as a CD today via Grand Jury Music. The quartet of 19-to-20-year-olds formed in St. Paul, MN in 2013 and had played only two shows outside their home state before they rocked up this year's SXSW, unleashing their blend of tight rhythms, seductive vocals and anthemic lyrics. Hippo Campus - comprised of Whistler Allen (drums), Jake Luppen (guitar, lead vocals), Nathan Stocker (guitar) and Zach Sutton (bass) - recorded 'Bashful Creatures' with Low's Alan Sparhawk. The result is "catchy indie pop rock [that sounds] as though they've been playing long past their teenage years" (Interview Magazine) and songs in which "each instrumental and vocal line has a clear purpose" (Paste).
