IFPI Appoints Norman Halim To Its Main Board
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Norman Abdul Halim, one of the pre-eminent figures of the music industry in Malaysia, is to join the Main Board and Asia Regional Executive Board of IFPI, the organisation representing the recording industry worldwide.

Norman Halim is the executive president of KRU Music, a leading Malaysian independent label, as well as chairman of the Recording Industry of Malaysia (RIM). He rose to prominence as part of the Malaysian pop group KRU, alongside his two brothers, before founding the KRU Group in 1992 which pioneered the production of digital music, film and television content in Malaysia.

Halim also holds numerous other prestigious positions including serving as the chairman of the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives & Consumerism's National Anti-Piracy Awareness Committee and the vice president of the Malaysian Film Producers' Association.
