NEW YORK (AP) - John Mellencamp has set October 16 as the release date for his new album, Cuttin' Heads. The 10 songs, which were recorded both last year and this year, feature guests including neo-soul singer India. Arie on the first single, " Peaceful World"; country star Trisha Yearwood on "Deep Blue Heart"; and Public Enemy leader Chuck D on the title track, in addition to Mellencamp's usual sidemen. A limited-edition vinyl single for " Peaceful World" comes out next Tuesday (October 2), with a B-side of "In Our Lives." There are no plans to release any singles on CD. The tracklisting for Cuttin' Heads includes: "Cuttin' Heads," "Peaceful World," "Deep Blue Heart," "Crazy Island," "Just Like You," "The Same Way I Do," "Women Seem," "Shy," "Worn Out Nervous Condition," and "In Our Lives." Mellencamp recently wrapped up the initial dates on his Cuttin Heads tour, which began July 31. He's expected to hit the road again later this year.
