The Seattle Symphony Debuts Alex Wurman's March Of The Penguins Live To Picture!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) For the first time live to picture, the Seattle Symphony will perform composer Alex Wurman's original score from the Warner Bros. film MARCH OF THE PENGUINS. Performed under the baton of Jeffrey Schindler, conductor of the original movie soundtrack, the concert will take place on July 8 at 7:30pm in the S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium at Benaroya Hall. Tickets are now available at https://www.seattlesymphony.org/

"I'm very excited to have March of the Penguins score performed with such gorgeous images in a concert setting." said Wurman. "March of the Penguins is a natural fit for a live performance because of the film's visual scope and beauty, and the important role of the music."

In the Antarctic, every March since the beginning of time, the quest begins for penguins to find the perfect mate and start a family. This courtship will begin with a long journey -- a journey that will take them hundreds of miles across the continent by foot, in freezing cold temperatures, in brittle, icy winds and through deep, treacherous waters. They will risk starvation and attack by dangerous predators, under the harshest conditions on earth, all to find true love.

"Wurman's upbeat music is a major plus, attentive to the humor and gravity of penguins' traditional mating ritual." Kirk Honeycutt, The Hollywood Reporter

Narrated by Morgan Freeman, this Oscar-winning documentary was a box-office hit, outgrossing that same year's "Best Picture" nominees. MARCH OF THE PENGUINS explores the vast landscapes and soundscapes of Antarctica through the extraordinary lives of its penguins.

"I believe it is important to allow ourselves to romanticize the penguins lives and the Antarctic, anything to help us connect emotionally with our great responsibility to respect the earth," explained Wurman. "Playing the score with the film in a concert setting is even more impactful as it allows us to feel this together. I think even the penguins themselves would be excited to hear the orchestra play their score!"

The Seattle Symphony will debut composer Alex Wurman's original score from the Warner Bros. film MARCH OF THE PENGUINS, on July 8 at 7:30pm at the S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium at Benaroya Hall. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.seattlesymphony.org/.
