Lee Greenwood Headed To New York City In Time For Fourth Of July
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Voted the most recognizable patriotic song in America, his iconic hit "God Bless The U.S.A," is the only song in history to top the country singles charts three times after major national events (1991, 2001, 2003) and the pop chart after 9/11. Not to mention, the song is so powerful, it is now part of the film for Homeland Security that is shown when swearing in new citizens to the United States. The song's ability to capture the emotions of patriotic Americans across the country and beyond, is unmatched, and that's why it is still as popular today as it was when it was written in 1983. Just in time for Independence Day, the multi-No. 1 anthem's songwriter and hit maker, Lee Greenwood, will visit New York City June 30 through July 3 in support of his Amazon No.1 best-selling children's book, Proud To Be An American.

The son of a World War II veteran, Greenwood knows firsthand what it's like to have loved ones fighting for the freedom of all Americans. In honor of that, he has penned the new book, Proud To Be An American, in the words of his iconic anthem, "God Bless The U.S.A.," with the hope of instilling the same sense of pride and American patriotism he feels in the hearts of our nation's youth. Along with the lyrics and a free download for a never-before-heard rerecord of "God Bless The U.S.A," Proud To Be An American features colorful illustrations by Amanda Sekulow that paint the portrait of scenic farmland and cityscapes throughout the country, American soldiers, and even Arlington Cemetery.

Released by Clovercroft Publishing, Proud To Be An American is currently available for purchase online at LeeGreenwood.com, Amazon and in various bookstores nationwide including Barnes and Noble, Books-A-Million, Christian Family Stores and others.

In preparation of the 4th of July holiday, Lee Greenwood can be seen among these media outlets:

June 18 at 9 p.m. CST/10 p.m. EST: TBN's Praise The Lord
July 1: Military Families magazine, Reserve and National Guard magazine
July 3: Closer Weekly (At Home feature), FOX & Friends "All-American Concert Series"
Various dates leading up to July 4: Billboard.com, Country Weekly, United Stations' "Serving Your Country," Westwood One's "Country Gold with Randy Owen"

July 4: FOX News Radio "#ProudAmerican Special," Inside Edition, Parade.com, TheBoot.com
July/August:

The Fourth of July media roll-out is preceded by recent interviews with Hannity, FOX News Network with Uma Pemmaraju, Behind The Velvet Rope with Arthur Kade, The Daily Buzz, The Ron Seggi Show, SiriusXM's The Patriot, SiriusXM's Prime Country and many others.

About Lee Greenwood:
Throughout his expansive career, international country music star Lee Greenwood has earned multiple CMA and ACM Awards, a GRAMMY for Top Male Vocal Performance on "I.O.U," in 1985, and a multitude of other prestigious award nominations. His discography includes twenty-two studio albums, seven compilation albums, seven No. 1 hits, and thirty-eight singles including songs like "Ring On Her Finger," "Time On Her Hands," "Dixie Road," and "Somebody's Gonna Love You," among others. His stand-out hit "God Bless The USA," has been in the top five on the country singles charts three times (1991, 2001 and 2003), giving it the distinction of being the only song in any genre of music to achieve that feat. It was also No. 1 on the pop charts after 9/11. Known for his stand-out patriotism and support of the U.S. military, Greenwood has been honored with the Congressional Medal of Honor Society's National Patriot's Award, and entertained troops on more than 30 USO Tours. He is the National Ambassador for HelpingaHero.org, a non-profit, non-partisan organization providing support for military personnel, severely injured in the war on terror.

In partnership with HelpingaHero.org, Greenwood helps to provide specially adapted homes for qualifying service members and engages in communities to provide services and resources for our wounded heroes and their families. In November 2008, President George W. Bush appointed Greenwood to a six-year term as a council member on the National Endowment for the Arts. The California native wrote his second book in 2012, a collection of inspirational essays titled Does God Still Bless the USA; A Plea for a Better America (Tate Publishing). His latest projects include a brand-new fully illustrated children's book, Proud To Be An American (Clovercroft Publishing), in stores Memorial Day Weekend, as well as a seven song EP, I Want to Be In Your World, featuring more songs penned by Greenwood and him on saxophone. Snapshot: Lee Greenwood is a compilation album that was also just released in March by Sony RED Distribution. Greenwood is on tour nationwide performing at fairs, festivals, casinos and theaters across the country. Lee and his wife, Kimberly, a former Miss Tennessee, currently reside in Nashville and have two sons.
