New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Tubi TV, the largest free TV and Movie destination, announced today the launch of their streaming app on Samsung Smart TVs and Blu-Ray players. The availability adds to the growing number of devices where Tubi TV can be viewed, including Xbox, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, iPhones, iPads, and Android devices, amongst others. Tubi TV has over 20,000 titles from over 120 content partners, including Paramount Pictures, Starz, and The Outdoor Channel.
"In three years, more than half the population will have abandoned their expensive monthly cable bill in favor of set-top devices and smart TVs," said Farhad Massoudi, Founder and CEO of Tubi TV. "We want to make sure that people can always binge-watch the best of TV and movies from around the world without ever having to pay any money."
For the first quarter of 2015, cable companies lost over 100,000 subscribers, with satellite networks losing over 70,000, according to Evercore. In that time, Tubi TV has grown more than 300% from the first quarter of this year to the second quarter across all devices, including the web.
"Consumers rejected the notion of paying for news when the internet was developing," said Massoudi. "Now, the television industry is going through those same changes, as high quality television shows and movies are available for free across multiple connected platforms."
