New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Universally acclaimed Warner Bros. Records recording artist
Ashley Monroe has given the world another peek at her highly anticipated new album "The Blade," releasing the dark shuffle "I Buried Your Love Alive" exclusively at Stereogum.
Rolling Stone said "
The Blade" is "destined to be one of the year's top albums" following an intimate show during CMA
Music Festival week to debut her album for music journalists and critics. Fans hungry for more before Monroe's second Warner Bros. LP is released July 24 can pre-order "
The Blade" through iTunes and AshleyMonroe.com. Pre-orders will include instant downloads of the title track, released exclusively at People.com, "On to Something Good" and "I Buried Your Love Alive." More songs including "The Weight of the Load" and "Bombshell," will also be delivered before street date to fans who pre-order the album.
"I Buried Your Love Alive" is another masterful song that will melt your heart from the 28-year-old singer-songwriter from East Tennessee considered one of modern country music's most authentic voices.
"Instead of gunning for outlier status, Monroe is more than happy to take her place in the legacy of badass country women who bring darkness into the spotlight. Listen," Stereogum raved this week.
Last week was the start of a summer full of big moments for Monroe, a member of the
Pistol Annies supergroup. Along with her album debut show, she was nominated for a CMT Award and where her fashion sense - wearing a beautiful Cynthia Rowley dress - drew attention on the red carpet. Currently, she is featured on Buzzfeed for her stylized video of the single "On to Something Good," directed by Rachel McDonald.
Monroe will play a series of select solo and festival dates this summer. And will appear on NBC's "The
Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on July 27 to celebrate the release of The Blade.
