Beauty Queen Autopsy Releases Debut Album 'Lotharia'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Doom Pop/Electronic Post-Punk artists Beauty Queen Autopsy have released the video for the first single off of their debut album Lotharia, titled "Spread". Lotharia is scheduled for release June 30th. Preorder available HERE

Beauty Queen Autopsy's debut Lotharia is the wild synergistic effect of two of the underground's most prolific artists (Unwoman's Erica Mulkey and Caustic's Matt Fanale) joining forces. Musically and emotionally raw, Lotharia dives headfirst into the deep end of electronic post-punk shoegaze, with distorted, reverb-heavy songs of a woman's lust, heartbreak, and rebirth. Lotharia pits Fanale's stark, bombastic compositions against Mulkey's soaring vocal harmonies, creating a uniquely rewarding collision of harsh and smooth, allowing both parts of the musical equation to soar.

From the opening manifesto 'Good, Giving, Game' to the pounding, drinking-til-bartime 'Pumps', to the folk industrial plinking of 'The Taxidermist', BQA slips from track to track telling the tale of a woman cutting through love's tangled Gordian Knot and experiencing true freedom for the first time. Unapologetic and unrelenting, BQA's percussive, sexy grind portrays the true nature of being vulnerable and rejected yet desirable, and how sometimes the best way to heal is by stitching the pieces together and proudly displaying the scars.

Beauty Queen Autopsy is proof positive of the inspired energy that is created when artists of divergent backgrounds combine forces under one banner. Bay Area vocalist Erica Mulkey has been releasing her unique brand of award-winning, cello-infused pop since 2001 under the guise of Unwoman, playing conventions and festivals worldwide. Madison, Wisconsin's Matt Fanale is best known for his anarchic industrial-punk project Caustic. The unlikely duo formed through mutual friends, respect for each other's prolific outputs, and a shared DIY drive.

The artist's first collaborated in 2011 when Mulkey sang on the Caustic song "Orchid" from the album "The Golden Vagina Of Fame And Profit." The two experimented further but it was not until 2013 that Fanale nailed down a distorted and shoegazey synthpop style that they dubbed "dark noisepop". Through an enthusiastic portrayal of the character Fanale devised for her, Mulkey added a deep raw emotion to Fanale's lyrics of lost love, desire, and feminine sexual identity.

Beauty Queen Autopsy self released their first demoes as 'ROUGHEST CUTS' on Bandcamp in December of 2013. The 4 song EP immediately hit the top of the Alternative and 'any format' charts. Consisting of three original tracks and a cover of the Sex Pistols' 'Submission', both Unwoman and Caustic fans were overwhelmingly supportive of the new sounds. Many were surprised at the sexual themes of the songs channeled through a feminist filter. The EP also garnered BQA a feature-length interview and review in the popular dark culture magazine Gothic Beauty. Pleasantly surprised by the positive reaction, Mulkey and Fanale moved forward with their debut album 'Lotharia', and exceeded their fundraising goals with a Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign.

The majority of 2014 was spent with Fanale writing the music and lyrics for BQA's debut 'Lotharia', with Mulkey adding vocals and layers of harmonies. In July, BQA released a single from the EP of 'Good, Giving, Game', which included a reworked version of the original EP track plus remixes and a popular cover of Placebo's 'Pure Morning'.

Late 2014 marked both the completion of the album and BQA's first live show in Madison, WI. The band assembled their first two videos in a marathon session.
