NASHVILLE, TN. (Blue Hat Records) - Charlie Daniels' phenomenal career has spanned over forty years, during which he has performed in front of millions of people and sold millions of records. Still, he deemed his recent CD signings at the Wal-Mart stores in Valley and Greenville, AL, sponsored by Dr Pepper, as 'the best, most pleasant in-store appearances I've done.'
'It's wonderful to see that this far into my career, there are still people who relate to the music and want to come out and say hello and shake my hand,' Daniels continued. 'Plus, I got to drink all the Diet Dr Pepper I wanted.'
At both locations, hundreds of fans lined up hours before Daniels' scheduled arrival, and he extended his visits to accommodate everyone with autographs. While he was there to sign copies of his current Koch/Blue Hat Records release, 'Essential Super Hits,' the Valley store sold out of every Charlie Daniels title in stock.
'Rooster Country' WSTH-FM presented the event in Valley, AL, and added to the excitement of the event with their live broadcast. Montgomery 's WLWI 92 presented the signing in Greenville and also supported it with a live remote. Daniels did interviews with each station, as well as the Greenville Advocate and the Opelika-Auburn News, both of which ran advance feature stories.
'Everyone worked together to make these events so successful,' said Daniels' Director of Touring, Bebe Evans. 'The combination of efforts by Wal-Mart, Dr Pepper, radio, press—and of course, the dedication of Charlie's fans—was truly amazing.'
Daniels is scheduled for another CD signing on Wednesday, December 8, at the Wal-Mart store located at 3351 South Ferdon Boulevard in Crestview, FL, at 5:00 p.m.
Marketing for the series of Dr Pepper sponsored CD signings at Wal-Mart stores is handled by The Consortium in Nashville. Other artists participating in the series include Trace Adkins, Sherrie Austin, Dierks Bentley, Mark Chesnutt and David Lee Murphy.
