New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Randy Rogers and Wade Bowen will kick off their 21 date '"Hold My Beer" tour in Omaha, NE, on Thurs., July 9. The duo - known individually for their own successful solo careers - released 'Hold My Beer: Vol. 1' (4.20.15). The 10-track album, produced by
Lloyd Maines, was born from Rogers and Bowen's 8-year-running acoustic tour, called "Hold My Beer And Watch This."
The "old school country duo" (Rolling Stone Country), that historically sells out major
Texas markets, will expand to cities including Chicago, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco and West Hollywood's famed Troubadour, closing with a headlining performance on Sept. 17 during AmericanaFest in Nashville.
The tour promises a rousing 90-minute set, including their signature acoustic segment in addition to full-band performances.
"I'm ready to tour this record, we both have lived these songs and continue to do so," says Rogers. Bowen adds, "This is always my favorite time of year... Two buddies hangin' out playing music 'cause we love what we do. What could possibly be better?"
The "lean, mean and hard" (AllMusic.com) album garnered reviews including "a fine, no-glitz, knowing hard-country" (Wall Street Journal) and an NPR Morning Edition mention, plus, "Til It Does" was recently chosen by NPR as one of its "best songs of 2015 (so far)" calling the track "honky-tonk music to make your heart melt."
Reflecting an enduring friendship and a decade-long, house-packing tour, the tracks off 'Hold My Beer, Vol. 1' is "hardcore
Texas country" (AllMusic) that's part road movie, part joke book, part Western philosophy, and above all else, the story of two friends who recognize the value of personal integrity, Saturday night dance parties and a couple of good, stiff drinks.
