New York, NY (Top40 Charts) 2015 is turning out to be an incredible year for blues soloist Dan Phelps. In the beginning of the year the Illinois bluesman was selected to represent the Crossroads Blues Society within the acoustic solo category at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee. A huge thrill for the noted bluesman to say the least. Then a few months later the up and coming bluesman shared the stage with none other than the internationally recognized singer, songwriter Doug MacLeod.
Dan was in complete awe of being on the same bill with this man. But it didn't end there - soon after Dan received a phone call from Bob Keiser of Blues Blast Magazine informing him that his album "Going Home" is currently nominated for the 2015 Best Acoustic Album of the Year Award. Dan was speechless. On top of that Dan has been invited to perform at the annual event as well, which Dan graciously accepted immediately. And now just recently Dan's European itinerary for a return engagement to the UK has finally come together. Yes, Dan Phelps, the up and coming bluesman from northern Illinois is having a wonderful year. Dan hasn't settled on signing with a label yet so who knows the year is only half over...stay tuned...
Dan shares, "Hearing that my album "Going Home" has been nominated for Acoustic Album of the Year by Blues Blast Magazine truly makes me feel that the work I've been doing is something my audience appreciates. I am so flattered and honored to be included alongside some great players. The audience support fuels my inspiration to keep working hard as I prepare to go on another tour in the UK and Ireland this September."
