Wearethebigbang Blow Up The Scene With "Smoke" EP
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Soul-infused indie pop band, weareTheBigBang, released their EP, Smoke, filled with funky guitar licks, feisty vocals and undeniably, danceable rhythms. weareTheBigBang take cues from acts such as Amy Winehouse and Nina Simone, drawing Motown and rock influences in their fresh and modern approach to pop. Smoke is now available on iTunes.

The sextet made a splash on the LA indie scene with the release of their first single, "Smoke," quickly garnering attention with their fresh funk-rock sound. Produced by Darryl Swann (Macy Gray, Black Eyed Peas, Mos Def), Smoke confirms the band's presence with a lively indie-soul sound, comparable to Fitz and The Tantrums. The EP hits the ground running, opening with the single, "No", packed with a hand-clapping percussion and a bouncy bass line that gets listeners' heads bopping before singer Elaine Faye's powerful vocals take command of the song. The third track, "Smoke", reflects on the eventual end of a relationship as Faye addresses her lover who can't see "the smoke in the kitchen". Both singles display weareTheBigBang's greatest strength: turning heartbreak into upbeat and soulful gems that keep you moving. The fifth and final track, "Running" is the perfect ending note as it looks forward, urging listeners to keep their head up and keep on running, backed by a disco beat that's updated with their captivating modern style. weareTheBigBang's Smoke EP uses classic pop music as a starting point and embodies a sound that is timeless and accessible to a wide audience. With this in mind, it follows naturally that the band has gained such a large following in a short amount of time.

Formed as the members were finishing their last year at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, weareTheBigBang have quickly established a name for themselves. Faye shares vocal duties with Cheyenne Jolene, while the rest of the band consists of Luis Munoz (guitar), Oliver Lee (keyboard), Enrique Hinojosa (bass), and Kyle Rector (drums). The band has performed at Make Music Pasadena Fest, KIIS FM's Wango Tango Music Festival and major festivals like Bonnaroo, Coachella, and SXSW. weareTheBigBang has shared the stage with acts such as Allen Stone, Lianne La Havas, Nikka Costa, Lights, Vintage Trouble, HoneyHoney, and many more. Their music has been featured on VH1's Mob Wives, Single Ladies, Love and Hip Hop, MTV's Teen Wolf, and Snooki and Jwoww, TNT's Boston's Finest, Lifetime's Dance Moms and Bring It, the CW morning news, and many more.

Smoke EP is a welcomed breath of fresh air with a crossover of the classic and the contemporary flair that has fans clamoring for more. You'll quickly be able to smell the smoke for yourself as this LA band is setting the local music scene ablaze. Be sure to download the Smoke on iTunes and check out more from the band at www.weareTheBigBang.com!
