Shinedown Unveil "Threat To Survival"; Multi-Platinum Rock Heroes Announce First New Album In Three Years
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Atlantic recording group Shinedown has announced the release of their much-anticipated new album. "THREAT TO SURVIVAL" - the multi-platinum certified rock band's first new album in three years - arrives everywhere on September 18th (see attached track listing). "THREAT TO SURVIVAL" follows 2012's RIAA gold certified "AMARYLLIS." The album - which includes the #1 rock radio smash, "Cut The Cord" - is available for pre-order beginning today on the band's website (www.shinedown.com/ThreatToSurvival) and all other online retailers.

"Threat To Survival refers to that primal instinct in all of us that determines how we respond to crisis and conflict - the idea of 'fight or flight' and the choices we make in any given situation," explains Shinedown frontman Brent Smith. "This album represents those deciding moments for us as a band. It's a collection of scenarios that made us who we are, and is, by far, the most autobiographical album we've created to date."

"Cut The Cord" - produced by Shinedown's own Eric Bass - arrived last month and fast ascended to #1 at Active Rock radio outlets across the country. The single's immediate success continues a record-setting streak in which every one of the 19 singles released over Shinedown's decade-plus career has ascended to the upper regions of the radio charts - a feat that no other rock band has achieved.

In addition, the "Cut The Cord" companion video recently had its world premiere on Billboard.com. The powerful clip - directed by the band's longtime collaborator Darren Doane ("Devour," "Sound of Madness," "Bully") - has already earned over 1.5 million individual views and can now be viewed at Shinedown's official YouTube channel:

Shinedown is currently traveling the U.S. on a very special summer tour, their first major trek in more than two years. The dates see Shinedown visiting theatres and other intimate venues across the country, performing a unique set that includes classic hits, deep cuts, and best of all, new songs from the upcoming "THREAT TO SURVIVAL." Support on most dates comes from special guests Nothing More.

Shinedown will then return to the road in October to headline a string of festivals: Mobile, AL's Bayfest (October 2nd), Louisville, KY's Louder Than Life (October 4th), and Sacramento, CA's Monster Energy Aftershock 2015 (October 24th). The band is already set to kick off 2016 by crossing the Atlantic for the inaugural United Kingdom version of the "Carnival of Madness Tour," joining fellow hard rock icons Black Stone Cherry, Atlantic Records labelmates Halestorm, and newcomers Highly Suspect for arena dates slated through mid-February. More fall touring plans in support of "THREAT TO SURVIVAL" will be announced soon. For complete details, updates, and ticket availability, please visit www.shinedown.com/tour.

Known worldwide for their unparalleled streak of hits, Shinedown is without question one of the most successful rock bands of the 21st century. The band's unmatched ascendancy over multi-format rock radio commenced with their 2003 debut "LEAVE A WHISPER" and the 2005 follow-up, "US AND THEM." Together, both albums yielded seven consecutive top 5 radio hits, including the #1 blockbuster, "Save Me."

Released in 2008, "THE SOUND OF MADNESS" proved to be Shinedown's mainstream breakthrough, debuting at #8 on the Billboard 200 before spending 120 consecutive weeks on the chart. The album made rock history, with each of its six singles reaching #1 on the airplay rankings, including the double-platinum certified crossover smash, "Second Chance," which also went to #1 on the Hot AC chart and top 3 at Top 40.

"AMARYLLIS" followed in 2012 and immediately entered Billboard's "Rock Albums" chart at #1 while also coming in at #4 on the overall Billboard 200 with over 105,000 units sold in the first week - the multi-platinum group's biggest chart debut thus far. The album spawned a trio of massive hits in "Bully," "Unity," and "Enemies," all of which reached #1 at Active Rock radio, bringing Shinedown's tally of consecutive chart-toppers at the format to an amazing nine and counting. In addition, two additional singles from "AMARYLLIS" -- "I'll Follow You" and "Adrenaline" -- both reached the top 5 at Rock radio, furthering Shinedown's extraordinary streak of top-charting singles.

Hailed by fans as an explosive and exciting live act, Shinedown have toured hard throughout their career, including countless headline treks and high profile festival appearances. In addition, the band's numerous national television appearances include performances on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and TODAY, CBS' The Early Show, and TBS' Conan, among others. In 2009, Shinedown received an American Music Award nomination for "Best Alternative Rock Band."

Shinedown is: Brent Smith (vocals), Barry Kerch (drums), Zach Myers (guitars), and Eric Bass (bass).
