NEW YORK (AP) - Lifehouse will receive the inaugural BDSCertified Spin Award for the Most Spun Song of the Year for its hit "Hanging By a Moment." The band is being presented with the plaque at VH1's studios in New York on Tuesday (Sept. 25). The song, from the L.A. band's double-platinum debut No Name Face (DreamWorks), has garnered more than 420,000 spins (i.e., individual times played on the radio) in 2001 thus far, according to data provided by the radio equivalent of SoundScan, Broadcast Data Systems (BDS). BDSCertified award plaques - akin to gold and platinum album plaques - will be presented to artists with songs that exceed 50,000 spins, 100,000 spins, and each 100,000 mark thereafter. 1,100 radio stations are monitored by BDS in more than 130 markets nationwide.
