The thirty-year-old Brooklyn chapter of Amnesty International meets monthly, and in addition to international efforts on behalf of all people, the group focuses much of its energy on making sure women in particular can be both seen and heard, whether that involves protesting discrimination, speaking out for economic rights, or demanding legal protection. This struggle to end discrimination and violence against women is a difficult one, and all those involved with Amnesty International Brooklyn are volunteers. This is what makes an evening like this so important, because these struggles on behalf of human rights cannot continue without your support.
Great music for a great cause. That is what this evening is all about. Amnesty International Brooklyn is in need of your support and thanks you for your contributions.
