Sambuca Uptown Restaurant Presents The John A Lewis Trio With Vocalist Glennda Hill And Special Guest Saxophonist Chuck Anderson
DALLAS, TX (Top40 Charts/ John A Lewis Trio) On Tuesday, September 1st from 7:00 until 11:00 pm the John A Lewis trio will bring their unique style of jazz to the Sambuca Uptown restaurant located at 2100 Mckinny Ave across from the Ritz Carlton Hotel.

The trio consists of pianist/composer John A Lewis, bassist Lincoln Apeland, and drummer Merick Gillett. The trio has been performing together for over five years. They have performed at such venues as the Sammons Center for the Arts, the Jazz In the Atrium series at the Dallas Museum of Art, the Sandaga 813 Music Emporium and festivals and clubs throughout the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

The trio has recorded two critically acclaimed CDs on the Valarteri Jazz label. "Progenation," which Jazz Inside Magazine describes as "hypnotically pleasant," and their recent recording "One Trip Out," which The Birmingham Times calls "pure jazz with meaningful swing," and reached number eight on the CMJ jazz chart.

The trio's repertoire consists of original music written by John A Lewis, jazz standards, show tunes and tunes with a Latin tinge.

Performing with the trio will be Glennda Hill, a dynamic vocalist whose repertoire consists of tunes from both the American songbook and rhythm and blues. Also performing with the trio is saxophonist Chuck Anderson. Chuck plays with a contemporary spin on hard bop with an added R&B flavor.

Check out the John A Lewis trio with vocalist Glennda Hill and special guest saxophonist Chuck Anderson and enjoy the fine food and great atmosphere at Sambuca Uptown.
