New York, NY (Top40 Charts) PIG DESTROYER's remixed and remastered Relapse debut 'Prowler in the Yard' is now streaming in full via MetalSucks prior to its September 4 release! Fully reworked by guitarist/engineer Scott Hull, the landmark 2001 release (which Pitchfork deemed "a quantum leap for the whole goddamn genre") has gotten the super-deluxe reissue treatment as another portion of Relapse's 25th anniversary festivities and is now available for your listening pleasure (or pain)!
All editions of the Prowler reissue include a never-before-heard bonus track from the original album sessions, exclusive photos, expanded artwork, and new liner notes including the complete Decibel Magazine Hall of Fame piece on the album. The reissue is available as a 2CD set, a digital download, and on various LP colors. The 2CD set (strictly limited to 2000 copies) also includes a disc of the original version of the album. Preorders are available through Relapse and through Bandcamp.
Frontman JR Hayes commented on the reissue:
"Attention all weirdos, dirtbags, creeps and related scum, I'm excited to bring you the 15th Anniversary edition of our second album "Prowler in the Yard." Remixed and remastered in SUPER-MEGA-HATE-SOUND by Mr. Hull himself. Relapse has expanded the packaging with liner notes and a ton of old photos from when I used to dye my hair black and wear button-up shirts. In addition to an unearthed instrumental track, we've also included the original mix for those of you who prefer the sound of basements. Hail to all PD fans worldwide. Free Mumia Abu Jamal."
Additionally, PIG DESTROYER was recently confirmed as a performer at the first inaugural Netherlands Deathfest (by the creators of Maryland Deathfest) alongside comrades AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED and many other labelmates including GRUESOME, COFFINS and more. The event will take place in February 2016 in Tilburg;
PIG DESTROYER will also be playing the third annual Denver Black Sky festival this December and will be supported by fellow Relapse brethren SKINLESS.
