NEW YORK (Billboard) - Aerosmith has confirmed dates for a second leg of its North American tour, which will now run through mid-December. The Cult will serve as the opening act for most stops. In addition, the second of two performances postponed due to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks will be made up tomorrow night (Sept. 27), adnd bring the first leg of the tour to a close.

The second half of the jaunt was slated to kick off Oct. 9 in Vancouver, but the date was canceled, so it will now resume Oct. 11 in Calgary, Alberta. The Cult will join two shows later, on Oct. 15 in Minneapolis, and remain on the bill until the tour's close in Cleveland Dec. 17.

Aerosmith is touring behind its latest Columbia album, "Just Push Play," which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in March and spawned the single "Jaded," a No. 7 hit on The Bilboard Hot 100. The set has moved just over 1 million copies in the U.S. to date, according to SoundScan.

The Cult released its first album of new material since 1994 this past June. The set, "Beyond Good and Evil," debuted at No. 27 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 141,000 copies, according to SoundScan.
