New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Peace, Love & Dubtronic
Emerald and Doreen goes „Jah" with an eclectic fusion of Dub inspired, Acid, House & Electronica via this tasty set of Dubbing Piano Remixes. All based on a track originally created by Tokyo-based artist, music producer & DJ Shotaro Hirata .
Shotaro's music spectrum includes techno, tech-house, minimal, chillout, electronica and some good old-skool dub rhythms.
In 2006, he established 'moph records', a record label to release music and to organize events in the Japanese capital. In addition to his artist activities, he has provided numerous tracks to visuals, exhibitions, television, web commercials, and company videos.
On "Dub Piano Remixes" our selector has chosen Shotaro's original dub version of the track alongside 6 otherworldly interpretations.
Go Satta's acid dub version with Jamaican voice samples combined with the Moriah Nixon's mesmerizing, smooth vocals brings back good memories of the earlier pioneers of dub fusion such as Dreadzone or Thievery Corporation.
Haioka's dubtronic version is more organic, complex in a way and demands attention from the listener whilst another E&D favorite 69 North decomposes the whole track and reassembles it 20.000 miles below sea level.
Our good friend, Italian mastermind, Dalo mixes the original piano line with ambient house and electronica elements and as a logical consequence London-based new comers Latona develop that approach further into soothing deep house.
Blackmod, yet another great Italian-born talent, you will hear much more about on E&D this year, chills it down with a more relaxing baseline and a more subtle, soulful re-interpretation.
In a sense "Dubbing Piano Remixes" is an album that cherishes many of Emerald & Doreen's values, creating an unlikely axis from ranging Japanese electronica to Jamaican dub and bringing together artists from around the world to unite on one great p(i)e(a)ce of music. Sit down, close your eyes and let yourself immerse into these magic sounds
