Celebrate Tootsie's 55th Anniversary Nash Bash In Downtown Nashville On October 21, 2015
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Music City's legendary honky-tonk Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, 95.5 NASH ICON and NASH FM 103.3 will celebrate Tootsie's 55th Anniversary NASH Bash in Downtown Nashville on Wednesday, Oct. 21 with a FREE Broadway street party (between 4th and 5th Avenue). As part of the celebration, Tootsie's, in partnership with Dollar General, is hosting a sanctioned Nathan's Famous hot dog eating contest at 5pm. The top male and female finisher will each qualify for a spot to compete in the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island on July 4, 2016. Once again, the event will feature a star-studded line-up on the outdoor Broadway stage throughout the day, including Randy Houser, Terri Clark, LOCASH, Chase Bryant, Michael Ray, Trick Pony, Confederate Railroad, Amanda Watkins, John Stone, Scott Collier, Anthony Orio and more. Kid Rock, Dierks Bentley and many more have stopped by to surprise fans at past birthday bashes. You never know who is going to drop by! For more information, please visit: tootsies.net.

"We kicked the Birthday Bash off years ago at the Ryman with Kris Kristofferson, Terri Clark, Mel Tillis and Jamey Johnson," says Tootsie's proprietor Steve Smith. "It's become an annual event that everyone really looks forward to. We hope everyone will come out and help us celebrate our 55th birthday!"

About Tootsie's Orchid Lounge:
Tootsie's Orchid Lounge has operated across the alley from the Ryman almost continuously since 1960. Its proprietor from 1960 to 1978, Hattie Louise "Tootsie" Bess, bought the lounge called "Mom's" and named it for herself. According to tradition, a painter mistakenly painted the exterior orchid purple. The color was never changed and became Tootsie's signature color. Over the years, she served such famous customers as Kris Kristofferson, Faron Young and Willie Nelson when they were still up-and-coming artists, and Tootsie was well-known for her generosity toward struggling musicians. The photo and memorabilia-lined walls are called "Tootsie's Wall of Fame." Today, Tootsie's Orchid Lounge is a must-see Music City destination for tourists and is frequented by locals, including some of the biggest names in country music, who often drop in and surprise patrons with impromptu performances. Kenny Chesney with classic rock icon Steve Miller, Keith Urban, Kix Brooks, Montgomery Gentry, Kid Rock, Steven Tyler, Randy Houser, Jamey Johnson, Dierks Bentley and Hank Williams, Jr. are among the artists who have recently performed there.
