New York, NY (Top40 Charts) New meditative piano music composed by New York artist after brain injury.
Karen Salicath Jamali has been a professional artist for the last 30 years, living and working in New York City. It wasn't until after an accident four years ago that caused a brain injury that
Karen started to play music. Previously unable to play the piano, the brain injury amazingly opened up a new world for Karen, as she began to play beautiful and meditative music.
On October 30th, she releases Singing Universe, a collection of seven compositions each recorded in one take. Tracks include: Soul Resting; Oktober; Summer Sun; Awakening;
Angel Tear; Universe; and Rain. This is her fifth CD released this year.
The songs could be used as meditation music, as they will put the listener into a relaxed state of consciousness. The accident that occurred four years ago caused
Karen to have a near-death experience. After a long recovery, she began to hear music all the time. She decided to record and play what she was experiencing. The result is a beautiful collection of piano music that is emotional, relaxing and enchanting. When she had the accident, she awakened her musical brain, as it has opened up a world of new music for the visual artist, who can now express herself visually as a sculptor, painter and photographer, but also audibly as a pianist and composer.
