New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Singer/songwriter Ben Mauro just released his debut EP TO LA, which showcases his eclectic palette and refined musicianship. To LA EP has rich sonic textures and cinematic undertones that set the tone to Mauro's unparalleled musicianship and is now available on iTunes and Spotify.

Making a splash on the music scene this summer with the release of his premiere single, "Take Your Time," which paints a Caribbean picture of a carefree love and adoration. His follow-up release, "This Crazy Love" is a harmonica-filled ditty reflecting in the quest for love, maintaining a quality of optimism that everything will work out in the end. Building on the joie de vivre vibe of his music, the To LA EP features both singles along with a diverse compilation of songs that demonstrate Mauro's refreshingly, unpredictable sound. The EP was co-produced by Gary Davenport and Ted Greenberg, engineered by Craig Alford and is accompanied by Oscar Seaton on drums, Jim Alfredson on organ, and Monet Owens singing backing vocals. While Mauro has clearly confirmed a presence as skilled guitarist playing as a permanent member in Lionel Richie's band, he has proved to be a brilliant songwriter, drawing from various influences and styles in his latest work. The Americana-inspired love song, "Eleanore," is packed with expertly executed blues shredding and the Spanish guitar-lead tale of revenge in "Burn It To The Ground" both reveal Mauro's cinematic inclinations. The closing track, "Happily Ever" wraps up the collection perfectly with an acoustic track full of love, positivity and chipper whistling. The To LA EP proves that this musician is full of surprises, stories and most importantly unparalleled musicianship.

Studying music and singing in choir as a child, music played an important role in Mauro's life from a young age. Mauro would later switch to guitar and at age 16, became very serious about his musicianship. He practiced relentlessly every day and began playing at local open mic nights. Forging relationships with other musicians, Mauro formed a band that covered many Lionel Richie songs, inspiring his musical influences and training him in funk rhythm guitar work. After his first band, Mauro took various jobs as a traveling musician, eventually deciding to move to New York City. There, he worked as a house musician for the legendary club, Café Wha? and subsequently left to pursue work as a freelance artist. Working night after night eventually lead to playing guitar with Lionel Richie. Now ready to pursue his own endeavors, Mauro has begun writing and performing his own material, preparing to continue an amazing journey making music.

To LA EP is full of hooks, licks and rhythms that are impossible to resist getting tangled up in with Mauro's tendency toward dramatic take on funk and blues. Check out the EP now, available on iTunes and Spotify! To learn more about Ben Mauro and his music, head over to BenMauro.com!
