Barnes & Noble Sales Of Adele's 25 Make Company History
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE:BKS), the nation's largest retail bookseller and a leading music retailer, today announced that first day sales of Adele's 25 in stores and online have surpassed first day sales of all other albums in Company history. Based on current trends Barnes & Noble expects 25, which launched on CD and vinyl on November 20, to be its bestselling album of 2015. The Company also reported that Adele's previous albums, 19 and 21, have seen strong recent sales.

"The highly-anticipated release of Adele's 25 has proven to be one of the most incredible events in Barnes & Noble's more than 20 years of selling music," said Chuck Gorman, Vice President of Music and DVD at Barnes & Noble. "We could not be more thrilled to see customers of all ages from across the country flock to Barnes & Noble to pick up Adele's new album and take part in this exciting music moment."

Previous top selling albums at Barnes & Noble include Bruce Springsteen's The Rising (2002), Coldplay's X&Y (2005), Everyday by Dave Matthews Band (2001), Josh Groban's Closer (2003), Feels Like Home by Norah Jones (2004) and Susan Boyle's I Dreamed a Dream (2009).

Customers can visit Barnes & Noble stores nationwide or BN.com to pick up their copy of 25, available on CD and vinyl. Barnes & Noble stores and BN.com also offer Adele's blockbuster first and second albums, 19 and 21, in both formats.
