New Yorker Rachael Sage Premieres New Holiday Single "Hanukkah In The Village" Via Yahoo! Music
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) New Yorker Rachael Sage will herald the holiday season with her charming new holiday song "Hanukkah in the Village." It's the most wonderful, magical time of the year, thanks to the lights, the festive decor, and the general upbeat spirit of the season, and this song certainly captures the energy of the holidays.

Sage is adding a personal soundtrack to this time of year that is just as enjoyable as all the familiar and favorite holiday classics. It was conceived, recorded and debuted live in the Big Apple (via Sage's acclaimed holiday show "Tchatchkes & Latkes" at Joe's Pub), furthering its authenticity.

The song represents Sage's tongue-in-cheek lyrical take on Hanukkah, supported by confident, sophisticated musicianship. Recorded in Sage's East Village studio after debuting at local venue Joe's Pub, the accordion/string-laden track includes vocal cameos by Irish singer Fiona Harte, guitarist Mark Bosch (Ian Hunter), bassist Mike Visceglia (Suzanne Vega, Duncan Shiek), cellist Dave Eggar (Coldplay), and Brooklyn musicians Michelle Citrin and Andy Mac.

In the song, Sage is reminiscing about past holiday seasons in a playful way —and with her signature sense of humor intact. She sings about being the recipient of Hello Kitty PJs and gifting her loved one with front-row tickets to an Alanis gig, all the while comparing the menorah to flickering city lights.

She drops plenty of NYC-centric references that will certainly warm the heart of Manhattanites.

The song is lush with instrumentation and a cute 'n' quirky vibe. It will certainly find a home on your holiday playlists. Download it from iTunes now.
