New York, NY (Top40 Charts) "...bar band raconteur paints his Southern soul masterpiece... Sweany crafts what sounds like a career highlight." - Uncut

"...True whiskey-warm, front porch music, and Sweany is the king of it." - Glide

"These are songs that others aspire to be." - No Depression

Following the release of his critically acclaimed new album Daytime Turned To Nighttime, out now on Nine Mile Records, Patrick Sweany has released a new music video for the album's opening track "First Of The Week."

The video premiered via The Daily Beast, called Patrick Sweany a "goddamned good guitarist and songwriter." Writer James Joiner elaborated and said, "On his latest record, Daytime Turned to Nighttime, he's relaxed a little, settled into his role as a Southern gentleman, and the laconic tunes seep sincerity as much as they do musical dexterity."

For Daytime Turned To Nighttime, Sweany continued to work with local producer and engineer Joe McMahan, who lent his talents to Close To The Floor (2013) as well as That Old Southern Drag (2011). Together, they recruited Ron Eoff (The Band, The Cate Brothers) and Bryan Owings (Tony Joe White, Emmylou Harris) as the rhythm section. Sweany refers to them as "the funkiest, most soulful players you could ask for."

Luke Torn of Uncut rated the album 8 out of 10 and said, "Digging deep into the essence of the late-'60s Muscle Shoals with every note, tapping into both the musical and emotional pull of myriad postwar blues, soul and country styles, Nashvillian Patrick Sweany crafts what sounds like a career highlight."

Glide Magazine premiered a live video of Sweany performing the album's closing track "Long Way Down" in his backyard. Maeri Ferguson gave the album an 8 out of 10 and called it "sultry and confident, warm and homey."

Paste Magazine premiered "First Of The Week," the first single to be released from Sweany's 7th studio release. Writer Brian Rolli called the track "...a warm acoustic jam about forging your own path on the road and living with those consequences" that has "...a soulful vibe evocative of early-'70s Southern rock."
