Musical Boogie Stomp! Extends Run Through January 16, 2016
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Boogie Stomp!, the raucous and rollicking musical tracing the history of boogie-woogie music and its impact on American popular culture, has extended its run at the Elektra Theatre in the heart of Broadway through Jan. 16.

Called "the show to catch" by NYTheatreGuide, com, Boogie Stomp! features acclaimed pianists Bob Baldori and Arthur Migliazza as exuberant tour guides on a journey through American music. The exciting, get-up-and-dance musical tells the story of past and present piano masters, including jazz and stride pioneers like Pinetop Perkins, Earl "Fatha" Hines and Otis Spann, as well as Pete Johnson, Albert Ammons and Meade "Lux" Lewis, the trio of keyboard giants who transformed boogie-woogie into a full-fledged musical craze during the 1930s and '40s.

With a combination of playing, singing, dancing and spellbinding storytelling, Baldori and Migliazza tie together disparate threads of American culture. In addition to showcasing the music of artists as diverse as W.C. Handy, Benny Goodman, Muddy Waters and Chuck Berry, Boogie Stomp! also makes the case for boogie-woogie as a key shaping influence on rock 'n' roll and hip-hop.

Baldori, the show's primary narrator, has been a mainstay of the blues, boogie and rock scenes in the Midwest for more than 40 years. He has performed with Chuck Berry since 1966 and has performed or recorded with blues and rock legends including Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Del Shannon and Bo Diddley. As a member of Detroit rock group The Woolies, he scored a nationally charting hit with a cover of Diddley's "Who Do You Love" in 1966 and also shared the stage with the MC5.

Migliazza, an award-winning blues and boogie-woogie pianist, has been playing professionally since age 13. A member of the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame, Migliazza was a 2010 and 2014 finalists for the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN, and has shared the stage with artists including Albert Lee, Little Milton, Buckwheat Zedeco, Robert Cray and Elvis Bishop.
