New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today, Ahmen released the music video for "Ahmen Funk", a teaser for his highly anticipated 2016 album. The video, which was inspired by Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk", was directed by Ahmen and Thomas Ramsey and shot in New York City and New Jersey.
The song and video brings Ahmen's trademark lyrical prowess and humor to re-envision a party staple. As he laces the infectious beat with his unique style of artistry, he's backed by choreography from some of New York's hottest dancers - and lets loose with some friends to wrap things up. "Ahmen Funk" is a non-commercial project that is serving as a teaser for his new album, which will be released in early 2016.
"Ahmen Funk" arrives as Ahmen rises as one of the country's leading artist-activists. Dubbed the "Batman of Social Impact," Ahmen is a nonprofit leader by day and hip-hop artist by night. In the past year, he's been featured as an artist and speaker across the country, with engagements including INBOUND15, Embark15, MCON15, the CBGB Music Festival, Hip Hop on Deck, Definition of Fresh, Glasswerk, and more.
