New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Showcasing their talent as gifted songwriters and artists, Sister Hazels 13th studio album Lighter In The Dark, releases on Croakin
Poets Records tomorrow, February 19, 2016. The long-awaited 14-track collection, produced by noted Nashville producer Chip Matthews, represents the band's longstanding ties to
Music City.
Sister Hazel will begin a ten-day media blitz this week which will include stops in New York at SiriusXM on Feb. 18 and NASH FM on Feb. 19, Voice of Americas Border Crossings in Washington, DC on Feb. 24, and a return to New York on Feb. 25, to perform on NBCs Today, Fox Extra, Fox News Radio, and iHeart Radio.
The five years since our last record has been anything but a straight and clear path, states bassist/vocalist Jett Beres. After making records together for over 20 years, we found ourselves struggling to find The Sound; a body of work that would honestly represent who each of us were as a band and as individuals. The music that was created was our lighter in the dark. The songs that form this record slowly began to illuminate a clarity of direction and creativity for us.
Commenting on the new album, Taste Of Country said, The groups signature infectious melodies and perfectly blended harmonies (plus a dash of folk instrumentation) will lend well to country music.
Everything Country also praised the new album saying, Pop/Rock veterans
Sister Hazel are releasing their latest album Lighter in the Dark this month and it should sit proudly amongst the better country releases of the early part of the year. The
Digital Journal stated, Overall,
Sister Hazel stuns on their latest album, Lighter In the Dark. They prove that they are like fine wine, where they only get better with age. It is a highly eclectic project and it displays their wide versatility as a musical group.
Lighter In The Dark is sure to resonate with Sister Hazels expansive fan base and appeal to new fans alike. Guest artist
Darius Ruckers voice on Karaoke Song is one that cant be missed. The band has been playing the song live for a while, ever since Rucker, Copeland, and Nashville songwriter Barry Dean put it together. And on the stark heartbreak ballad Almost Broken, fast-rising artist Jillian Jacqueline adds a haunting complement to Copelands lead vocal. It adds up to 14 tracks, most of them co-written by members of the band, some of them with outside writers, all of them branded by their balance of harmony blends with distinctive lead vocals, instrumental polish with raw soul - and above all, their fusion of multiple influences into that unique
Sister Hazel sound.
