New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Out now for download is Lee Gilberts brand new single Soar. The song is an infectious, uplifting, Pop track that would not be out of place in todays Top 40 Chart. It has overtones of R&B/Gospel/Soul also that really set it apart from your typical modern Pop song. It is a song about bettering oneself, about rising from adversity, getting over difficulties and soaring above negativity. Its a song that has a message and a meaning for us all; never give up and follow your dreams!

Lees versatility as a performer is impressive. In addition to working as a self-contained solo artiste, he performs as a duo with a pianist, with a jazz quintet and indeed with his full seventeen piece Big Band. His one man show has been seen across the country in various theatres and large venues, e.g. Motorpoint
Arena Cardiff.
In 2008, Lee wrote Come Fly with Me the Big Band Musical in collaboration Steven Coleman (Only The Brave). The show was directed by Richard Tunley and received its premiere at the Wales
Millennium Centre in 2009 to critical acclaim. The show was a full sized musical comedy featuring a cast of fifteen and a live Big Band on stage throughout. It was also the subject of an ITV documentary, following its progress.
Lee has toured nationally, creating the role of Will Hay in the original production of Michael Bogdanovs Amazing Grace written by Mal Pope, for the Wales Theatre Company. This year he's been wowing audiences in Switzerland and was recently seen on Channel 4's 'Come Dine With Me' (Jan 2016).
Soar was written and produced by Darren Parry (see pic, right), a multi-award winning Welsh singer/songwriter who was the 2004 'UK Songwriting Champion', 2014 USA 'Song Of The Year' runner up and has songwriting awards from 'Billboard', 'Unisong' and many others (www.darrenparry.com). The track was recorded at Shabbey Road Studios in Caerphilly, South Wales with the uber talented Al Steele, who also features on the track playing bass (amongst other instruments) and also features Darren Parry playing keyboards/backing vox and the great Rob Devereux on guitar, giving the song some catchy, hook laden licks.
Catch Lee performing the song live on 14th Feb for The
George Thomas Hospice
Valentine Event at Cardiff Arms Park and 28th Feb at a St Davids Day concert fundraiser at St Peters Church, Pentre, Rhondda (see Lees website for Facebook link for ticket info). Soar is out now for download on iTunes, Amazon and all good download retailers.
