New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Omniscient, a short sci-fi film produced by Bella Luce Productions, will premiere at Cannes Film Festival Court Metrage 2016.
Cannes Film Festival, located just a few miles from Nice, France along the French Riviera, is the worlds oldest and most prestigious film festival. The non-public event gives filmmakers the chance to market their films on the basis of artistic quality and tickets are not sold to the public.
Just under twelve minutes running time, Omniscient is the story of Grace (Delaney Joy), a fourteen year old with a strong telepathic ability. Her father, Lucien (Luke Broyles), is a deranged leader of a criminal organization who kidnaps Grace to attempt to clone her telepathic gift to the members of his organization. Lucien has devised a way to clone Grace's ability to the members of the group.....but the clock is ticking. Lucien must subvert his fatherly tendencies and give in to the darkness to carry out the Sons of Enlightenment mission. Will he be able to accomplish this feat before Amanda (Hannah Barefoot) exposes him and his big secret?
Barefoot explained, Im thrilled to have been a part of this incredibly talented cast and crew, who were some of the most eager and adaptable people Ive been able to work with. That its premiering in Cannes is a dream come true, and I couldnt be prouder of it. I have no doubts that it will leave a worthwhile impression on viewers. To have been a part of this incredible female-directed, female-driven thriller was a rush for me, and I cant wait to make the feature.
