MY FATHER DIE synopsis: Deaf and mute since having his hearing knocked out at the age of 12, Asher has been training for almost two decades to avenge himself on Ivan, the man that killed his older brother, 21 years ago. And now that his nemesis is out of prison, he gets his chance. But Asher's target also happens to be his father. This film is written and directed by Sean Brosnan, son of Pierce Brosnan. Murphy plays a preacher in the film that has a weakness to some less then holy entertainment. Murphy said, "I really had to go out of my comfort zone to play this character. I accepted the role without reading the script. It was kind of an "OH MY GOD WHAT HAVE I DONE" moment when I first finished it. I have had some challenging roles but this is definitely the most anyone has seen of me to this point! What you see might not be pretty but it is certainly truthful."
