New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Americana All Stars, the brainchild of music agent Amy Magrinat and recording artist Tokyo Rosenthal, announced their first bus tour today. The concept of banding together several Americana music acts is seen as a way to pool the resources of various performers in order to play bigger venues, combine marketing efforts, share touring expenses, and introduce each other to their respective fans and music critics.
The artists in the debut tour include award winning singer songwriter from Chapel Hill, N. Carolina, Tokyo Rosenthal, legendary songwriter and performer from Mount Holly, NC,
David Childers, and the hot new trio from The Triangle in N. Carolina, The String Beings. As part of the efficiency of this tour, the acts will help each other out musically by backing one another with various instruments. Other artists will be added from tour to tour and venue to venue when and where it makes sense.
The very first All Stars show will be at The Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, NC, on May 24th at 8pm. The Troop will immediately go up to Asheville, NC to perform at The Isis
Music Hall on May 25th, and will conclude their first tour at The Nest in Gastonia, NC on May 26th.
Future dates, tours and artists will be announced shortly and on an ongoing basis.
The response has been far more positive then we ever anticipated, said Amy Magrinat, who has been booking the tour. I think we've really hit upon something that the premier listening rooms have been looking for.
I can tell you that the Americana acts have been looking for something like this too, said Tokyo Rosenthal. It's a very tough environment these days for singer - songwriters to tour, play the larger venues, market themselves and make a profit. This concept solves a lot of these problems.
While the initial tour is in the back yard of these acts, Magrinat and Rosenthal are targeting venues nation wide and possibly internationally as well.
